HDM, Inc. was started in 1996 by Dr. Young-Hwa Kim to commercialize SuperFabric® brand materials, a series of durable, flexible, and lightweight materials that have combinations of cut, abrasion, puncture, and fire/flame resistant properties.

One of the first applications of this materials was for the Lindy fish handling gloves to prevent cuts and punctures from knives, fish teeth, sharp gill plates, hooks and more. That customer has expanded their line of products and continues to sell strong.

Since that time, many manufacturers have come to enjoy the benefits of SuperFabric® brand materials including those in Industrial safety, the military, outdoor sports, and much more.
